RamRise is a tool for computing the temperature increase associated with flight through the air at a given true airspeed.
As an aircraft moves through the air, it compresses the air in front of it. This compression, and not "friction", is what causes the heat buildup associated with high airspeeds and happens with aircraft of all sizes.
This tool may be of interest during flight planning or when trying have a more accurate picture of when ice may form on an aircraft during operations where icing conditions may exist.
